I chose this topic because my Grandfather was Methodist minister and I was raised in a very religious family. I wasn’t resentful because I was forced to go to church but I have let my daughter pick her own path regarding that. I don’t see a lot of belief in anything these days and wondering how big of a role it actually has in modern life.
I am surprised the most by the differing opinions on my topic. The numbers, however, seem to support that Religion has a much smaller role today. I previously thought that religion would be important, maybe not as much as previously, but important none the less. The more I researched, the more I realized I was wrong. A study in Psychology Today cites that 20% fewer college students are spiritual. It goes on to point to self focus as one of the main reason for that.
